Bethesda Throws Fallout 76 PC Players a Bone With Some Free Old Fallout Games

From launch issues to poor feedback from critics and even the whole poor-quality bag in the Collector’s Edition, Bethesda’s Fallout 76 hasn’t had much positive news since its launch. The publisher has now thrown a bone to PC gamers who took the plunge into the multiplayer wasteland with some free old Fallout games.

Let’s face it, for many fans, the old Fallout games (excluding Tactics, yuck!) were better than Fallout 76. If you are looking for some old-school Fallout, then this bundle is for you. PC gamers can log into the Bethesda.net launcher and go ahead and grab the Fallout Classic Collection for free. The free old Fallout games include the following: Fallout, Fallout Tactics and Fallout 2.

There are some limitations, however, as these free old Fallout games are only available to those who logged into Fallout 76 in 2018. Since the Bethesda.net accounts are all linked, those who played Fallout 76 on PS4 or Xbox One can reportedly also grab the Fallout Classic Collection for free on PC.

Instructions for claiming these free old Fallout games are:

  • Download and run the Bethesda Launcher for PC
  • Sign in to Bethesda.net with your account credentials
  • Install the Fallout Classic Collection titles from the Games menu

It’s a nice little gift to those who bought and played Fallout 76 last year and I can’t help but imagine that people will rather play Fallout 1 and 2 instead of Fallout 76.

In other Fallout 76 news, next week’s big patch has been moved up and is set to release sometime tomorrow, hopefully bringing many more fixes and improvements to the game. This patch will be available to PC players tomorrow, while console players will still have to wait until next week.
