Bethesda Will Support Steam With Their Upcoming Titles & Even Fallout 76

When Epic Games unexpectedly unleashed the Epic Games Store on the PC gaming world, things changed. Steam finally had a real contender and Epic even promised a free game every two weeks for an entire year. This, coupled with some games (for example Metro Exodus) being released for PC exclusively on the Epic Games Store, really amped up the fight between the Epic Games Store and Steam. Bethesda, as most of you know, also has their own launcher and Fallout 76 released exclusively on that platform, without support for Steam.

However, Bethesda has now revealed that they will support Steam going forward and they will even bring Fallout 76 to Steam in the future. The landscape of PC gaming has surely changed a lot in the past several months but for someone like me who still prefers Steam and loves most (sorry Fallout 76) Bethesda games, this is excellent news. Bethesda announced their future support of Steam on Twitter, which you can check out below.

I, for one, cannot be happier, for a few reasons. First off, store exclusivity for PC gaming just doesn’t make as much sense as console exclusives. Console exclusives sell consoles, whereas PC store exclusivity does nothing but separate the gaming community. Further, in my experience, Steam is still the most stable platform and Bethesda bringing their games to Steam means that you can enjoy a solid experience without all those issues like players ran into with downloading Fallout 76 on PC.

What do you think about this move by Bethesda and do you still prefer Steam over other PC gaming digital platforms? Let us know in the comment section below.
