Beyond Good and Evil 20th Anniversary Edition 2024

Beyond Good and Evil Anniversary Edition Might Release Soon According to PSN

Last November, Ubisoft officially announced the 20th Anniversary Edition of its cult classic action/adventure game, Beyond Good and Evil. We’ve had little to no updates on the project since then but according to a new PSN leak, the game might be gearing up for release very soon.

Media outlet Gematsu first noticed that PS5 trophies for Beyond Good and Evil Anniversary Edition had surfaced on the backend along with a 1.01 patch for PS4. Essentially, this means that the game is ready for launch, at least on PlayStation’s side.

When digging through the 1.01 update for the game, users discovered that it included options such as a speed run mode, autosave functionality, a gallery, the ability to skip cutscenes and plenty of visual improvements like reworked textures and 3D models. With so much information available about the game, even details about its first patch, there’s a good chance that a release date might be announced soon.

It’s rather strange that the recent Ubisoft Forward event, which took place on 10 June, didn’t mention Beyond Good and Evil Anniversary Edition. Perhaps Ubisoft wanted to nail down a release date when it was more confident that the game was very close to completion. In any case, a late 2024 release might be on the table as Ubisoft previously confirmed that it would arrive this year for PlayStation, Xbox and Nintendo Switch consoles.

It’s possible that we might actually see Beyond Good and Evil Anniversary Edition at the upcoming Nintendo Direct. Last month, Nintendo president Shuntaro Furukawa announced that a new Direct would arrive in June. There’s been no announcement of the event happening yet. In the same report, Furukawa also confirmed that the successor to the Switch will arrive before March 2025, though fans shouldn’t expect that reveal to happen at the next Direct.

As for the long-awaited sequel, Beyond Good and Evil 2, Ubisoft has been radio silent on the project.
