Black Myth: Wukong, the latest action title from developer Game Science, could receive its first major DLC as soon as early 2025. The game launched last month to enormous commercial success, selling nearly 18 million copies since release and almost $1 billion in revenue, making it the current best-selling game of the year so far.
According to China-based journalist Daniel Camilo, Game Science is reportedly planning on releasing DLC for Black Myth: Wukong early next year to coincide with the Chinese New Year, beginning on 29 January 2025. Camilo claims to have heard from trustworthy sources that the DLC will arrive “right at the end of January, or very soon after.”
“Needless to say that plans can always change,” said Camilo in a post on X. “While teams have internal plans and roadmaps, nothing is hardly ever set in stone when it comes to release dates in gaming…”
DLC for Black Myth Wukong will come out somewhere near the Chinese New Year, 2025.
That is, right at the end of January, or very soon after.
This is according to very reliable first hand sources I heard from.

Black Myth: Wukong largely adapts the classic Chinese literature Journey to the West, though introduces its own action-focused gameplay, bosses and cinematics. While it can be compared to a soulslike with the use of certain familiar features, the game is mostly a straight-forward action hack-and-slash with very lite RPG elements. So far, the reception surrounding the game has been quite positive, receiving Overwhelmingly Positive reviews on Steam.
The description for Black Myth: Wukong reads:
“Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology. The story is based on Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature. You shall set out as the Destined One to venture into the challenges and marvels ahead, to uncover the obscured truth beneath the veil of a glorious legend from the past.”
Black Myth: Wukong is available on PS5 and PC.
