The PS5 graphics modes for Black Myth: Wukong, the upcoming Soulslike action RPG from developer Game Science, have leaked along with the announcement that the game has gone gold. While Game Science has yet to officially reveal the game’s graphical modes and settings for PS5, a new leak has now shed light on what players can expect in terms of resolution and frame rates.
Addressing fans’ concerns about the performance of Black Myth: Wukong on consoles, known leaker and insider Lunatic Ignus revealed that the game will offer two graphics modes: 4K at 30 FPS and 1440p at 60 FPS. The insider also claimed that the PS5 version is “very optimised” and that fans shouldn’t be too concerned about experiencing poor performance on PS5. This is excellent news for players who want to experience the game at a high frame rate without sacrificing too much resolution.
Black Myth: Wukong is expected to launch on PS5 and PC on 20 August 2024. Unfortunately, Game Science says that it needs time to further optimise the game for Xbox Series X/S consoles, meaning Xbox players will only receive the title at a later date.
I saw a lot of people worried about Black Myth: Wukong running bad on PS5.
I can confirm that the PS5 version is very optimised.. the devkits were also at Gamescom and Hanghzou.

Of course, we’ll just have to wait for Game Science to officially confirm the graphics modes but these are a promising indication that Black Myth: Wukong might not struggle on PS5 like many players suspected.
Black Myth: Wukong received a new gameplay trailer back in May showcasing some of the game’s insane, fast-paced boss fights. It seems to be drawing a lot of inspiration from games like Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice, Nioh and Wo Long: Fallen Dynasty, though the Journey to the West theming gives it a very unique spin on the formula.
