Black Myth Wukong Boss Fights Gameplay Trailer

Black Myth: Wukong PS5 Physical Edition Pre-Orders Now Live in South Africa

Pre-orders for the physical edition of Black Myth: Wukong on PS5 are now live in South Africa. The physical release currently doesn’t have a concrete date, though local retailers have informed us that they’re expecting a November release (the current date of 31 December is simply a placeholder). The game initially released back in August, though it was limited to a digital release on PS5 and PC. It looks like players who have been holding back until a physical version was announced are in luck.

Black Myth: Wukong is an action RPG rooted in Chinese mythology and based on Journey to the West, one of the Four Great Classical Novels of Chinese literature,” reads the game’s official blurb. It launched in August to mostly positive reviews with many praising its fast-paced combat, epic direction and cinematic storytelling. Unfortunately, the game only launched digitally on PS5 and PC with no word on a physical edition or Xbox release.

Developer Game Science provided fans will a long-awaited update last week confirming that the physical edition was finally on the way alongside an Xbox release. Pre-orders have opened up in South Africa for those eager to get their hands on the PS5 physical edition. You can pre-order your copy at Nexus Hub right here.

In related news, Black Myth: Wukong became one of 2024’s biggest game releases, passing 17.8 million copies sold in its first month while accumulating nearly $1 billion in revenue. Those numbers have gone up quite a bit since then as it managed to sell over 20 million copies. Game Science have also stated that it’s working on DLC for the game scheduled to arrive in early 2025, though details are unknown about the new content that will be added to the game.

Black Myth: Wukong is available on PS5 and PC. Make sure you secure your pre-order for the physical edition on PS5 before its arrival in South Africa.
