Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is rumoured to be getting collaborations in the form of Halo‘s Master Chief, DOOM‘s Doom Slayer and Gears of War‘s Marcus Fenix. Activision and developers Treyarch and Raven Software recently released the first-person shooter to positive reviews online with many praising its tightened gameplay and movement, engaging campaign and fun multiplayer modes. However, Activision plans to bolster the title with a few unexpected crossovers.
As reported by leaker Shpeshal Nick, who has a mixed track record of industry leaks and insider information, Doom Slayer, Master Chief and Marcus Fenix are apparently coming to Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 through future collaborations. “To put it out there. I can get behind this as well as Gears. Had heard about them a while back. I think Chief was supposed to be for MWIII originally (hence the Price mention) but was pushed to Black Ops,” said Nick on Twitter/X.
It’s hard to verify this information as Activision has yet to make an official announcement, though these three iconic gaming characters seem like ideal fits for the Call of Duty franchise – especially since two of them already hail from first-person shooter franchises of their own (Halo and DOOM). Of course, we’ve seen much crazier collaborations in the past like Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and Lara Croft.
In related news, Black Ops 6 was the biggest launch in the history of Call of Duty, setting a new franchise record for day one players (definitely owed to its simultaneous launch on Xbox Game Pass). Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, said in the first quarter earnings call at the time:
“Last week’s launch of Black Ops 6 was the biggest Call of Duty release ever, setting a record for day one players, as well as Game Pass subscriber adds on launch day. Unit sales on PlayStation and Steam were also up over 60 percent year-over-year.”
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
