Blizzard Announces Survival Game Set in an All-New Universe

It has been a long time since Blizzard Entertainment released a new IP. The last one we got was back in 2016 when the company released Overwatch. Since then, gamers have had to play the usual Diablo, Warcraft and other studio franchises. While those aren’t bad, it is always nice to see the company branching out to new things and a new unannounced survival game is one of these new projects.

Blizzard Entertainment has confirmed that the studio is working on a new IP that is completely different from its other franchises. The company says this new survival game is set in a whole new universe and will release on PC and consoles (when it’s ready).

According to Blizzard, this new game is a fantasy survival game and by the sound of things, will let players become the characters they want to be.

Over on the Blizzard blog, the company shared details on the game:

Blizzard is embarking on our next quest. We are going on a journey to a whole new universe, home to a brand-new survival game for PC and console. A place full of heroes we have yet to meet, stories yet to be told, and adventures yet to be lived. A vast realm of possibility, waiting to be explored.

Every story needs a teller. And every world needs builders. What if that could be you?

For thirty years, Blizzard has been creating universes for millions of players around the globe. This requires a diverse team of developers willing to lend their voices, to listen and to be heard. That is our mission.

Blizzard also announced that they are looking for developers to help join the team. This includes artists, designers and software engineers. Speaking of artists, the only two images we have seen from this new survival game include one with some sort of hunter and concept art of two people looking out towards a floating castle in the sky.

In typical Blizzard fashion, don’t expect to see anything about this new game for a long time. However, it does sound exciting regardless.
