Borderlands 2 DLC Leading to Borderlands 3 Leaked

Late last month, we reported on a rumour that Gearbox would release a Borderlands 2 DLC at E3 2019 to bridge the gap between Borderlands 2 and Borderlands 3. The latter releases on 14 September 2019 and there is simply no better way to get hyped for the third entry in the looter-shooter franchise than to play some new content in the form of a Borderlands 2 DLC. Now, it seems that the DLC has leaked a bit early, accompanied by a story description and some screenshots via a Steam page that went live early.

As spotted by a ResetEra user, the Steam page for the Borderlands 2 DLC was made live a bit early and has since been removed. Thanks to this leak, we now know that the DLC will be called Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary and it looks like it will be free to all Borderlands 2 owners.

Further, the game’s level cap will be raised to 80 and for those who just want to experience the DLC, new players will get boosted to level 30 so they can start on the DLC content right away. A description of Borderlands 2: Commander Lilith & The Fight For Sanctuary reads:

Sanctuary is under siege, the Vault’s map has been stolen and a toxic gas is poisoning Pandora. Fight new bosses, explore new zones, get new loot (including an entirely new tier beyond Legendary) and join up with Lilith and the Crimson Raiders to take on a deranged villain hell-bent on ruling the planet Returning players can pursue an increased level cap of 80, while newcomers can automatically boost to level 30 and dive straight into the action. But that’s not all, to make this leak super legit, the screenshots of the DLC were saved and uploaded before the Steam page got removed. You can check them all out below.
