Borderlands 3 – How Long Will it Take to Beat?

We’ve seen a lot about Borderlands 3 since its reveal in March this year and at E3 2019, Marco got some hands-on time. To put it mildly, Gearbox’s looter-shooter is awesome and we can’t wait until 13 September. However, many players out there might want to know how long Borderlands 3 will take to beat.

According to reports, Gearbox has revealed that Borderlands 3 will take around 35 hours to beat if you focus on the main quest and do a few side missions here and there. If you want to see everything the game has to offer, it will take much longer. 35 hours for the main quest and some side missions is a great number if you ask me.

To put things into perspective, the original Borderlands took an average of 23 hours to beat, while Borderlands 2 took 31 hours to complete. Further, Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel! took roughly 18 hours to complete. Keep in mind that this is just the main stories and not the dozens, if not hundreds of hours everyone will spend collecting better loot and doing side missions or just shooting enemies in the face.

Personally, I think it is a fantastic main story size for the game and not too short at all, considering many games don’t last that long as we know we will be playing it for way more than 35 hours anyway.

Borderlands 3 releases on 13 September 2019 for PS4, Xbox One and PC, so you can take off a week or two from school or work and get that doctor’s note ready for at least two weeks.
