Earlier this week, fans noticed that actress Angie Jho Lee updated her online resume to mention that she’s currently working on Borderlands 4, leading many to believe that the next anticipated Borderlands game had been leaked prematurely. The actress has now corrected her resume, claiming that it was a mistake. Lee was actually referring to the upcoming interactive streaming series, Borderlands EchoVision Live.
It’s unclear why Lee listed the interactive streaming series as Borderlands 4, though production company Genvid Entertainment has now come out to clarify this error on her resume. Genvid reached out to IGN with a statement, stating that while the upcoming Borderlands EchoVision Live takes place in the universe of Borderlands, fans shouldn’t expect it to be a new Borderlands game.

The full statement provided by Genvid reads:
“Actor Angie Jho Lee is a voice actor on Genvid Entertainment’s upcoming interactive streaming series, Borderlands EchoVision Live, which was announced at San Diego Comic-Con last month. While the series takes place within the Borderlands universe and is made in partnership with Gearbox Entertainment, it is not a Borderlands game. We reached out to Angie and asked her to make this change on her personal account to reflect the accurate role with the interactive series.”
That’s not to say that Borderlands 4 isn’t coming. Back in 2021, Gearbox boss Randy Pitchford said that the team was “working on the big one”, referring to the next Borderlands game.
In related news, Borderlands fans still have a lot to look forward to from the franchise. A live-action Borderlands movie from director Eli Roth is on its way next August, which stars Cate Blanchett as Lilith, Kevin Hart as Roland and Jack Black as Claptrap. Additionally, the South African Ratings Board leaked a new Borderlands collection, though the contents of this bundle are still unknown as it hasn’t been announced yet by Gearbox.
If you still haven’t played Borderlands 3 yet, the Ultimate Edition packages the entire experience in one definitive bundle – and it’s on sale right now on PS4 and PS5 for R539.
