A development build of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, the upcoming first-person shooter from Activision and Treyarch, has leaked online. As a result, a lot of early footage is currently flooding social media showing aspects of the game that weren’t meant to be seen until launch. This includes maps, perks and some campaign footage as well.
The footage being shared online is currently being taken down all over the internet, though that hasn’t stopped it from spreading like wildfire on forums, social media and message boards. It’s also worth nothing that the build being circulated isn’t actually the final build of the game as leaks are only showing partial lists of maps, perks and other elements from the game. Footage of the game’s new movement mechanics, titled ‘Omnimovement’, has also appeared online.
We won’t be sharing any of the footage here but you’ll be able to find it easily enough if you look through social media, especially on Twitter/X where the leaks seem to be flowing in by the minute and hour.
At the time of writing, Activision has yet to make an official statement on the leak. It’s also unclear how this leak happened or where it was sourced from, though the fact that it’s clearly an in-development build of the final product suggests that several things could very easily change before Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches later this year.
In related news, Treyarch is set to host multiplayer betas for Black Ops 6 later this month. Users who pre-ordered the game will gain access to the beta taking place from 30 August to 4 September. Thereafter, an open beta will take place across all platforms for every player from 6-9 September.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on 25 October 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also release day one on Xbox Game Pass’s higher tiers.
