Activision and developer Treyarch have released the first teaser trailer for its upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, along with a confirmation that it will be coming day one to Xbox Game Pass when it launches later this year.
The trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is rather ominous, setting up a (hopefully) compelling narrative to go along with its multiplayer modes, which are certain to be flooded on launch due to its inclusion on Xbox Game Pass. This also marks the first Activision title to release day one on Microsoft’s subscription service since it acquired parent company Activision Blizzard for $69 billion last year.
Little else is known about Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 but the new trailer points to a full reveal of the game on 9 June, set to take place after the Xbox Games Showcase in its own dedicated Direct.

Ahead of the official reveal for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, a release date forv the game was leaked – in keeping with franchise tradition, it will launch in late 2024, specifically 25 October, according to recent speculation from Insider Gaming.
Thankfully, while it’s set to launch day one on Xbox Game Pass, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will still be available to purchase on PlayStation and PC. That said, it will be interesting to see how this might impact sales of the game. The Call of Duty franchise has been the best-selling game of the year for several years over the past decade. There’s no doubt Black Ops 6‘s inclusion on Game Pass will bring in big numbers for Microsoft’s subscription service, though it remains to be seen if it manages to hold onto its strong sales.
