Activision and Treyarch are set to host a dedicated reveal event for its upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, after the Xbox Games Showcase on 9 June. Fans are expecting a release date (which previously leaked) along with our first look at gameplay. However, platforms have yet to be determined. According to a new leak, the shooter is also heading to PS4 and Xbox One in addition to current-gen hardware.
CharlieIntel, which frequently reports on Call of Duty news, revealed in a Twitter/X post that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s inclusion on PS4 and Xbox One had been leaked thanks to a logo for a “cross-gen bundle” package ahead of its announcement. It seems like Activision has yet to leave older generations behind for the franchise but considernig how much the annual shooter continues to sell on last-gen consoles, it’s easy to understand why.
Additionally, the PS4 has sold 117 million units which means it has a considerably larger player base than current-gen consoles. Having Black Ops 6 on Xbox One also seems like a no-brainer since it has been confirmed to launch day one on Xbox Game Pass, meaning it won’t miss out on a much larger player count at launch.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is seemingly set during the 90s Gulf War. The reveal trailer showed a pretty ominous set of scenes including a conspiracy brewing between Saddam Hussein and then-American president George H.W. Bush. We’ll have to wait and see what the single-player campaign and multiplayer has in store for fans. It’s addition as a day one Game Pass drop will no doubt contribute heavily to the player base too.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is in development for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. Tune into the Xbox Games Showcase on 9 June at 7PM CAT.
