Activision and developer Treyarch have confirmed the multiplayer beta dates for its upcoming first-person shooter, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. Players eager to get some early hands-on time with the game’s multiplayer content will be able to try it out in August and September, ahead of its official launch in October. Best of all, it won’t be limited to PlayStation platforms anymore.
Treyarch has announced that early access for the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer beta will run from 30 August to 4 September on all platforms. This will be available to users who have pre-ordered the game as well as those subscribed to the higher-tier Game Pass plans. This will be followed by an open beta the following weekend from 6-9 September, which will be open to all platforms and players.
At launch, Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will feature 16 multiplayer maps divided into 12 core 6v6 maps and four Strike maps that can be played either 2v2 or 6v6. Round-based zombies will also make a return in the new entry with two new maps available on release. Fans can look forward to a bigger reveal for the multiplayer modes on 28 August at the Call of Duty Next event.

Black Ops 6 will also be available day one on Xbox Game Pass but this will be limited to higher tiers as part of Microsoft’s revamped Game Pass service, which recently saw a price hike. Users will be required to be constantly connected to the internet, even for the single-player campaign.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on 25 October 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
