Activision and developer Treyarch have officially announced Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, this year’s entry in the long-running first-person shooter franchise. This follows a strange teaser website appearing online yesterday as well as a leaked image that all but confirmed the new Black Ops title. A full reveal of the game will take place directly after the upcoming Xbox Games Showcase in June, where it was initially revealed to be a mystery game.
The Direct for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 will take place straight after the Xbox Games Showcase on 9 June, providing players with a deep dive into new gameplay and product announcements. There’s also a very good chance that pre-orders will open up around this time with a release date expected for late 2024, either in October or November (the usual release cycle for annual Call of Duty entries).
We know very little about Black Ops 6 but previous reports suggest that it will take place during the 1990s Gulf War. The naming convention seems to have sparked a bit of confusion as well since 2020’s Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was technically the fifth Black Ops game, even though it wasn’t specifically named Black Ops 5.
GG to all who guessed right
