Activision and developer Treyarch have debuted the first trailer for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6‘s Zombies mode. The new trailer arrives ahead of a planned event taking place on 8 August that will blow the lid open on what’s coming to Black Ops 6 in terms of zombie action.
Activision released a blog post to accompany the reveal trailer for Zombies mode in Call of Duty: Black Ops 6, offering the first details for the maps. One of the launch maps in Zombies is Terminus, a military outpost located in the Philippine Sea. Here, former members of the CIA-led Requiem team are being held prisoner. The group attempts to stage a breakout but their plans are interrupted by the arrival of the undead, marking the next chapter in the Zombies Dark Aether story.
The blog post describing Zombies in Black Ops 6 reads:
“After two years battling undead outbreaks across the globe during the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War timeline, the CIA-led Requiem team finally succeeded in closing the last remaining dimensional portal, banishing its denizens back to the nightmarish hellscape known as the Dark Aether.”
“However, the team’s success came at a heavy price,” the post continues. “Agent Samantha Maxis sacrificed herself to essentially seal this twisted dimension from the inside. Worse was to follow, as Requiem’s senior staff members were unceremoniously arrested on the orders of the Project Director—finally revealed to be none other than Edward Richtofen.”
Early footage of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 leaked online earlier this week with the in-development build rapidly circulating the internet. Activision was quick to issue strike downs, though most of the content was already spread far enough to leak a few spoilers, so beware of social media and forums.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 launches on 25 October 2024 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC. It will also release day one on Xbox Game Pass’s higher tiers. Watch the first Zombies trailer for Terminus below:
