Call of Duty Black Ops 7 First Details 2025

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 First Details Revealed – Coming Later This Year

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 was officially announced during the Xbox Games Showcast last night, closing off the show and marking the next chapter in the long-running Black Ops series. The next game will once again be developed by Treyarch in partnership with Raven Software. Since the announcement trailer, the first details for the game have been shared, revealing which year the game is set in as well as other information like the actors involved and more.

First and foremost, Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature a futuristic setting again with a co-op campaign. It will be set in the year 2035, ten years after Black Ops 2 and eight years before Black Ops 4. Wall-running and jetpacks will also make a return. Additionally, some of the key staples of a new Call of Duty title will reappear including round based zombies and a variety of new multiplayer maps.

As for the star power behind the game, Treyarch and Activision revealed that Black Ops 7 will star a few well-known Hollywood actors including Milo Ventimiglia (Heroes) as David Mason, Michael Rooker (Guardians of the Galaxy) as Mike Harper and Kiernan Shipka (Chilling Adventures of Sabrina) as Emma Kagen.

Unfortunately, fans will have to wait a little longer for a full reveal as Treyarch confirmed that more news will be shared later this summer:

“Today is only the beginning with this first teaser. The full reveal of Black Ops 7 is coming later this summer, so the community should be on the lookout for teases, clues and the surprises that the Black Ops series is known for. It’s an exciting time as we prepare for a new Call of Duty reveal, and the next great experience to come.”

The trippy CG reveal trailer might’ve misled people into thinking it was a completely different game, though it will be interesting to see how far Black Ops 7 takes its psychedelic thriller cinematics or how it connects to the game’s campaign. No release date has been announced yet but it will arrive later this year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S and PC.
