The upcoming Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War will have its own PS4 beta phase at first. Of course, like past COD games, it is set to arrive on PS4 first and follow other platforms soon after. The big question since the game’s announcement earlier this week is when would the Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War beta takes place. Well, it seems in early October according to CharlieIntel.
The next shooter releases on 13 November for current generation consoles and later in 2020 for PS5 and Xbox Series X. According to CharlieIntel, users can expect to play the beta around a month before the game’s launch. The beta goes live on PS4 on 8 October 2020. No doubt the Xbox One and PC beta will follow on the 15 October and the following weekend will play host to the open beta for all platforms.

The Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War PS4 beta is open. However, PS4 users can get early access to the beta with a pre-order. Meaning users need to pre-order the game to unlock beta early access. Keep in mind that the physical edition of the game does not grant you beta access. Activision claims anyone interested in playing the test needs to pre-order a digital version of the game.
Keep in mind that these dates could change. However, we doubt it. The dates make sense given they are a month before launch but just like the complicated next-gen upgrade system, the beta enrollment sounds just as mind-boggling. At least we kind of know when to expect the beta even if we don’t know what platforms it will arrive on and what time it will unlock.
