We will soon see more about Call of Duty 2020 as the year progresses. Usually, by July every year, Activision has showcased their newest entry in the hugely popular shooter franchise. New rumours claim this years shooter will be called Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War. In addition, this year’s COD release marks the 10th anniversary of the Black Ops series so expect a big game coming your way.

The name comes from a reliable COD source named Okami13_. The Twitter user in the past has accurately shared information on multiple Call of Duty titles including Warzone and Modern Warfare. The Twitter user did not go into detail about the game’s name. However, they just shared an old Call of Duty: Black Ops box art with the “Cold War” title.

This is not the first time we have heard about Call of Duty 2020 being set during the Cold War. Earlier this year sources claimed the same thing. While it is still a little early to tell, Activision may indeed go back in time with this year’s release to freshen things up a bit. We also know the game will live alongside Warzone when it launches.
With next-gen consoles on the horizon, it will be interesting to see where the COD series goes in 2020. Anyone who plays the games will be excited to see them running on PS5 and Xbox Series X. However, we are still a while away from seeing them in the flesh. For now, take this with a pinch of salt until we get confirmation.
