Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War was announced during a special in-game event that took place in Warzone. This announcement followed a trailer, in-game details and pre-orders going live on all platforms. The game is due to release on 13 November 2020 on PS4, Xbox One and PC with a PS5 and Xbox Series X version and upgrade to follow.

According to CharlieIntel, the game includes a new “decision” feature in addition to character creation. Players can make choices throughout the campaign and unlock different voice lines. In addition, the game includes mission choices which allow players to interact in certain ways. Some missions can be played with a “guns blazing” approach while others give players the option between stealth and going loud. All of these decisions influence the campaign’s ending and are dictated by how you play the entire campaign.
As for the zombie mode, very little is known at the moment. The official description reads;

Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War Pricing and Next-Gen Upgrades
The game is launching in three editions. The bad news, if you plan on purchasing it at launch and expect to play it on PS5 and Xbox Series X, you are going to have to fork out more money for it. The standard edition of the game does not include the upgrade. Instead, this version is only playable through backwards compatibility. Instead, users need to purchase either the cross-gen edition or the ultimate edition to claim an upgrade to the fancy next-gen version. Activision has not shared specifics on this edition yet.
According to the PlayStation Blog, players can take progression with them when they upgrade to the new console versions later this year.

According to the PlayStation Blog, all progress from Warzone is carrying over to the new game. This includes inventory items, Operators and weapon blueprints. In addition, players can share progression between the two games while playing on both.
