You can now play Call of Duty: Mobile from Activision and developer Tencent Games featuring iconic maps, multiple modes, characters from past games and more on your Android or iOS device. Yes, you can now play Call of Duty for free on your phone.

All you need to do is head on over to the Apple App Store or the Google PlayStore and start downloading the game, preferably over a Wi-Fi connection. The Call of Duty: Mobile launch got off to a rocky start as it was supposed to release last night, but Activision revealed that there was an issue with players connecting to the game. These issues now seem to have been sorted out by developer Tencent Games and Activision.
With the release, the first global community event called Lighting up the World is also now live. In the event, players can unlock rewards for everyone for free and they can check the global progress in the Events section of the game.

The download weighs in at roughly 1.5GB and an online connection is required to play as well, so please don’t forget to enable that Wi-Fi before jumping in, unless you have a massive mobile network data cap.
After the launch, Activision and Tencent will release additional free content for Call of Duty: Mobile via seasonal updates, adding game modes, items and more to the game.
