Sony is expected to launch its PlayStation VR2 system at the end of this year. Reports claim that Sony is waiting to see how development on its games goes before nailing down an exact launch. However, it seems that the PS VR2 hardware might have another exclusive experience in the works. According to multiple sources, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 is expected to launch on PS VR2 as a fully-playable shooter.
Twitter account AccNGT, which is known for its reliable leaks says that Sony is expected to announce the Activision partnership this week during the State of Play. The stream will then host a full Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 PS VR2 announcement.

The report is also backed up by RalphsValve who confirmed last week that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will be fully integrated into PS VR2 and showcased at this week’s State of Play stream.
Given Sony’s past track record with Activision, a PS VR2 Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game makes sense. While the company will soon be under Microsoft’s helm, Activision promised to keep Call of Duty and its previous relationships with Sony intact.
PlayStation VR2 also boasts some incredible new hardware that will enhance the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 game on the system. While previous FPS games struggled to find their flow on the past VR system, Sony’s new VR2 controller and headset might be the perfect fit for the shooter.
The power of the PS5 would also mean that Sony won’t have to water down its games to make the compatible with the system. This means we’ll most likely get a fully-fledged COD game playable in PS VR2.
