As expected, the beta for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 will come to PlayStation consoles first. Sony’s marketing deal with Activision regarding exclusive content and early access for the series is expected to come to an end this year in light of Microsoft’s proposed acquisition of the publisher. Thereafter, it’s likely that future betas and any early content will arrive first on Xbox platforms.
According to an Arabic trailer which appeared on the PlayStation YouTube channel, the Modern Warfare 3 beta will be coming first to PlayStation. Court documents reveal that this year will be the last of Sony’s marketing agreement for the franchise. It’s unclear when players can expect the beta to release on PS4 and PS5, though we’ll probably hear more about it in the coming weeks leading up to its launch this November.

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 was officially announced last week and pinned with a release date of 10 November 2023. It will be a continuation of 2022’s Modern Warfare 2 which was developed by Infinity Ward. However, Sledgehammer Games is developing this year’s entry. Reports suggest that the game started off as standalone DLC to Modern Warfare 2 before morphing into a premium title.
In related news, Warzone and Modern Warfare 2 players will receive new skins and Operators in the form of musicians such as Nicki Minaj, Snoop Dogg and 21 Savage, along with Tomb Raider‘s Lara Croft.
Shortly after the FTC greenlit Microsoft’s acquisition of Activision Blizzard, Sony agreed to a 10-year deal that ensures new Call of Duty games released over the next decade will also come to PlayStation consoles. Back in December last year, Microsoft also promised that it would bring new Call of Duty titles to Nintendo consoles as well.
