Activision and Treyarch have revealed the first look at the zombie mode featured in Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. While the trailer is brief and includes more flash than substance, the video does confirm what we already know about the mode. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 zombie mode is an open-world survival experience this year and players will have to cooperate across the large map to take down the threats.
Activision says the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 zombie mode is an extraction-based mode. Players will need to constantly keep moving across the map to avoid the Aether Storm. You’ll now get to drive around in vehicles to navigate the map while also taking down hordes of heavy-hitting zombies.

Given the scale of the mode, zombie hordes are much denser than before. You’ll also encounter larger mutated zombie creatures in the mode too. These will put up a bigger fight and require teamwork to take down. The map also features mercenary soldiers who will also try to take you down. These soldiers are hired by Viktor Zakhaev.
Classic features also return in the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 zombie mode. These include Pack-A-Punch, Perk Colas, the Mystery Box and new mechanics which are tied to the new game mode.
The game mode will offer incentives to upgrade your account which will enhance future runs of the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 zombie mode. You’ll be able to store exfiltrated weapons to equip when going into a new match. Blueprints can also be found throughout the map which reward you with crafting opportunities for perks also equippable at the start of a new run.
Given the drastic shift in gears, the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3 zombie mode does sound exciting. Of course, we still have loads of questions on how the squad-based gameplay will work and whether or not the game mode still features its infinite survival mechanic.
