The latest instalment in the Call of Duty series, Modern Warfare has broken multiple records not only becoming the best-selling game of 2019 but also the fastest-selling Call of Duty release in history. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare saw $600 million in sales throughout its first three days making it the most impressive opening weekend for the series in history. The success of its opening weekend also crowns the game the top bestseller of 2019.
Activision Blizzard Chief Executive Officer Bobby Kotick shared some thoughts on the massive success of the game;

Activision also claims Modern Warfare is the publisher’s best digital opening to date with the PS4 topping the charts with an all-time highest digital pre-order number. It is also the best Call of Duty PC release in the franchise history.
Previous record-breaking COD entries include Black Ops 4 and WWII which both reported $500 million in the three-day opening weekend. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare slashed all previous franchise sales and will continue to grow as the game gets older.
