Not everyone has, or even live in an area where fibre-to-the-home is available, or can afford something like that, so it is important for us South African gamers to know how big a game will be. Enter the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare file size, which is without a doubt, absolutely massive.

Activision and Infinity Ward revealed the Call of Duty: Modern Warefare file size in the official system requirements for the game’s launch. Maybe its time you throw a blanket over your router so it doesn’t see it right now. Ready? The Call of Duty: Modern Warfare file size (HDD space requirement) is a whopping 175 GB. Keep in mind that this could be what the game will require with future updates included, such as DLC and maps, as they did with BLOPS3, but it is still massive regardless.
This makes the Modern Warfare file size the biggest this generation so far, especially for a game at launch without any updates. At the time of writing, the Xbox Store and the PlayStation Store doesn’t have file sizes for the game yet, but judging by past releases, the file size should be roughly the same.
The beta’s file size was roughly 45 GB and the only other change from the beta’s system requirements is that the recommended RAM has been lowered from 16 to 12 GB.
