Infinity Ward has showcased the first look at the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer. The showcase was done through a bunch of Twitch live streamers and revealed the new Gunfight mode.
While it is nothing spectacular to gaze at, mainly because it is from the same match and you will have to watch the different videos below from different player’s perspectives, it is our first look at this new game mode and the Call of Duty: Modern Warfare multiplayer.
This new 2v2 Gunfight mode pits two teams of two players against each other in a confined arena with the same inventory and loadouts. Each round takes 40-seconds and the first to win six rounds wins the match.
The mode also features an “overtime” mechanic where a flag appears on the map and players will have to capture it or defeat the other team within 10 seconds of it appearing.
Gunfight is a brand new mode in the series. It sounds quite similar to Destiny’s Doubles mode except for the set loadouts. In the Gunfight mode, players will have to fight with the equipment they are given and everyone will be loaded with the same primary gun, secondary weapons, tactical grenade and lethal item.
The gameplay footage which you can watch below takes place on the first of three maps called “King”. The other map called “Pine” is set in a dense forest and the last map called “Stack” will take you to a desert container.
Activision and Treyarch are planning an official Call of Duty: Multiplayer reveal stream for 1 August 2019. More on that as it happens.
Take a look at the embed streams below of the matches and make sure to watch them all so you can get the perspective from all angles.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare is set for release on 25 October 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
