The game is set to feature a dynamic weather system across many of the game modes. This means maps will change in fog density, rain, sun position and more. According to reports, this will follow a similar experience to Advanced Warfare.
Speaking of multiplayer, Call of Duty: Vanguard will still hang onto SBMM as Activision plans on implementing the matchmaking system into the new shooter. This matchmaking approach has plagued many COD games in the past including Warzone. Unfortunately, we are going to have to live with it.
Thankfully, there is some good news for those who hate cheaters. According to the leaks, Activision has spent the past twelve months working on a brand-new anti-cheat method for Call of Duty: Vanguard. This program is implemented in the game and will be patched into Warzone.
When it comes to the Call of Duty: Vanguard campaign, reports claim that the game is fully playable in 4-player co-op. While this hasn’t been confirmed yet, the game’s official boxart does hint at this too. The artwork features four soldiers walking through a battlefield. The characters in the image are named Lucas, Polina and Wade. The last character’s name has not been revealed.
There’s also confirmation of a new Zombie Mode in Call of Duty: Vanguard thanks to the new leaks. However, details are scarce at this time.
So when do we get to see Call of Duty: Vanguard in the flesh? Well, according to reports the game is being announced on 19 August. This date is also reportedly set aside for a special PlayStation event so it could be one of the many games showcased during the stream.
Call of Duty: Vanguard is then planned to release on 5 November 2021. The game is releasing on PS4, PS5, Xbox and PC. There is also a cross-gen bundle available for those who want it.
As all rumours, take this with a pinch of salt for now. However, now that the boxart is out this is basically all confirmed. Now we just wait for the official announcement which is apparently releasing on 19 August and will feature a song called Zombie by Bad Wolves.
