Call of Duty: Warzone Developer Infinity Ward is not taking cheating lightly in the new battle royale and issuing bans. The developer is taking drastic measures to get rid of cheaters. To date, the developer has banned over 70,000 players which is up from the 50,000 just two weeks ago. Infinity Ward said it is working hard to release dedicated security updates to crack down on cheating while also increasing focus on the in-game reporting tools which allows players to report possible cheaters they may encounter in the game.

Infinity Ward has revealed that players can expect a “streamlined UI” in the future that will allow a more seamless reporting experience during the game. The developer will use key data obtained through reports to analyze players and potential cheating data.

In a tweet, Infinity Ward warned Call of Duty: Warzone players saying “We are watching. We have zero-tolerance for cheaters.” If you are doing something you think is wrong, then take a look at the Call of Duty: Warzone Security and Enforcement Policy here which highlights what Infinity Ward claims to be a minor offence, a temporary offence, and permanent suspension and an extreme offence. The breakdown explains how even pirating the game can be a major criminal offence. There’s even consequences for “boosting” and using unsupported accessories.

While Call of Duty: Warzone may be suffering from some unpleasant cheaters and bans, the game has also been a massive success. Since launch, it has raked in over 50 million players. The 70,000 player ban is just the beginning as Infinity Ward will have its hands full in the coming weeks. To put it into perspective, Apex Legends saw Respawn ban more than 350,000 players in March 2019 alone. These Call of Duty: Warzone bans are just the beginning.
