Call of Duty: Warzone is Officially Coming to Mobile

Call of Duty: Warzone is finally coming to mobile as Activision has begun hiring for new roles to work on the port. The company recently posted several job listings on their site which gave away their plans to bring the free-to-play game to mobile devices, though no date has been given.

Activision is currently hiring for a few roles to work on a mobile port of Call of Duty: Warzone, the free-to-play battle royale which released on consoles and PC in early 2020. The job listing descriptions give us a good indication of their goals for the port and who they’re looking for.

According to the job description, the publisher is “creating an all-new, AAA mobile experience that will bring the thrilling, fluid and the large-scale action of Call of Duty: Warzone to players on the go.”

The full listing description continues:

“From production roles to engineering, design, art, marketing, and more, we’re looking for skilled game-makers, passionate fans, and genuinely awesome people to join our diverse team, inspired to deliver the next world-class mobile gaming experience to fans.”

At the moment, several job openings are available at Activision for Call of Duty: Warzone‘s mobile version, which includes network, system and UI programmers, UI artists, producers and managers.

The mobile port was previously leaked before this unofficial confirmation via job listings. Popular battle royale titles including Fortnite and PUBG have already released their mobile ports, and it was only a matter of time before Activision followed with Call of Duty: Warzone. Given its popularity, it makes sense, though we wonder if it will be strong enough to compete with its mobile market competitors.

Call of Duty: Warzone is currently available for PS4, Xbox One and PC, with a mobile port due in the future. PS5 and Xbox Series X/S versions are also expected to release sometime in 2022.
