Call of Duty Warzone Teases Upcoming Godzilla Crossover

Godzilla has basically been confirmed to arrive in Call of Duty Warzone, according to new marketing emails and teaser images. The two teaser images show Caldera in flames, while another reveals the famous kaiju swimming below the waves, seemingly approaching the shores of the game’s map above.

Several emails were sent out with the attached teasers showing Godzilla approaching Caldera. Activision has been teasing the upcoming third season of Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone Pacific with plenty of sound bytes and trailers.

However, the trailer for season three ends with “a storm was on the horizon”, as the Nazis had “unwittingly shaken something awake, something far more powerful and fearsome than anything we could ever hope to comprehend.” This is probably the biggest clue that Call of Duty is getting Godzilla.

As reported by Dot Esports, rumours about Godzilla and even King Kong coming to Warzone had surfaced as early as February this year when a leaker revealed that they had seen some concept artwork of the monsters in the game. One image also showed King Kong “swatting a WW2 plane out of the sky whilst soldiers aimed rifles at him in the distance” and another image that had “Godzilla destroying troops below with a bright blue beam.”

While King Kong hasn’t been confirmed yet to appear in Warzone, Godzilla is definitely on the table after these teaser images. The crossover may seem odd at first, but the idea of playing a match while the behemoth kaiju tears through the environment sounds pretty exciting.

Season three of Call of Duty will launch next week, and hopefully we’ll have more definite answers as to why Godzilla is stomping around Caldera.
