Capcom Spotlight Showcase Announced

Capcom Announces Digital Showcase for Next Week

Capcom has announced its next digital showcase set for next week. The Capcom Spotlight event will feature updates on the Resident Evil 4 remake, Mega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, Exoprimal and Monster Hunter Rise. According to the publisher, the event will run for 26 minutes and feature news on a variety of its upcoming games.

Capcom Spotlight will stream on Thursday, 9 March 2:30pm PT / 10:30pm GMT or 12:30am CAT and will also feature a pre-show 20 minutes earlier, though it’s unclear what will be shown in this pre-show. The publisher detailed exactly what fans can expect at the event so it’s setting expectations early. During the last State of Play event, Capcom revealed that the Resident Evil 4 remake will receive a “special demo” soon so we’ll hopefully hear an update about that.

As for the other titles, it’s possible that we’ll finally get a concrete release date for its upcoming multiplayer dino-shooter, Exoprimal, which currently has a loose 2023 release window. The company could also give an update on when PlayStation and Xbox players can expect Monster Hunter Rise‘s Sunbreak expansion to arrive on consoles as the base game launched earlier this year on PS4, PS5, Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S (as well as Xbox Game Pass).

There are a few notable games missing from the list. Street Fighter 6 is set to launch this June though it doesn’t seem like we’ll hear anything about the game at this showcase. Additionally, Dragon’s Dogma 2 is still a bit of an enigma after the game was revealed in a brief teaser last year with nothing to go on.

Finally, it doesn’t seem like Capcom is ready to announce the next major Monster Hunter game that follows Monster Hunter World. Capcom might be saving a big announcement like that for E3 season or for another important showcase.

The Capcom Spotlight stream is currently live and counting down to its kick off next week.
