Capcom Announces Street Fighter 6 With New Realistic Look

Capcom’s mysterious countdown timer ended this morning and the reveal was none other than Street Fighter 6. A brief teaser trailer was released following the announcement and while details are scarce at this time, the trailer reveals a new look for the game.

If anything, it looks like Street Fighter 6 is going to boast a more realistic look than any of the previous titles in the series. It also looks like the game is running on the RE Engine. The same engine that Capcom uses to make its Resident Evil games.

Capcom hasn’t released any official details for Street Fighter 6 yet. However, the developer says players will hear more about the game this Summer (June – July for those people who don’t use seasons to time stuff). We don’t know when the game is set to launch either but if anything, Capcom might take their time with Street Fighter 6 to avoid repeating the same disaster launch of Street Fighter V.

Street Fighter V was released in 2016 for PS4 and PC in a horrible state. A large portion of the game was missing including modes and fighters. It took Capcom three years to fix the game. This also meant releasing multiple versions of the title called Arcade and Champion Edition with added content. Watch the Street Fighter 6 trailer below.

Along with the Street Fighter 6 news, Capcom also announced a new game called Capcom Fighting Collection. The collection brings 10 classic fighting games to modern hardware including five Darkstalkers, Super Gem, Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo, Red Earth and more. The is set to launch on 24 June. Take a look at the trailer.
