A new Capcom Showcase has officially been announced for 12 June 2023. The show will be a part of Summer Game Fest from Geoff Keighley, seemingly taking the place of E3’s annual conferences and presentations. No details were offered about the showcase apart from its time and length, though fans have a lot to speculate about when it comes to Capcom.
Posted on the official Summer Game Fest Twitter account, the event confirmed that the next Capcom Showcase will take place on Monday, 12 June at 3pm PT / 6pm ET or 12am (midnight) CAT for South Africans. According to the Capcom European Facebook, the event will have a run time of around 36 minutes.

As for what fans can expect from the event, it’s anyone’s guess, though plenty of theories have already surfaced on message boards. Some believe that we’ll finally get an update on the Ada Wong DLC, Separate Ways, for the Resident Evil 4 remake in addition to more information about its recently announced PS VR2 version. With Exoprimal a month away from launch, we can also expect Capcom to offer more details about the multiplayer dinosaur action game.
Since Dragon’s Dogma 2 had an unexpected showing at the PlayStation Showcase, it’s possible that we’ll see more of the open-world RPG sequel at the show as well. We can hopefully expect some post-launch content details for Street Fighter 6 too, perhaps covering the game’s seasonal content and potential new characters coming to the roster.
In terms of surprises, rumours indicate that Capcom are already hard at work on Resident Evil 9, which is reportedly titled Resident Evil Apocalypse. There’s also the question of when the company will officially announce the next mainline Monster Hunter game and successor to Monster Hunter World. Take all of this with a pinch of salt as it’s merely speculation on our part.
Tune into the Capcom Showcase on 12 June to find out more.
