Carole Baskin Fires Back as Tiger King 2 Gets November Premiere Date

Netflix has announced that the anticipated second season of Tiger King will premiere on 17 November. Netflix promises that the show, which is called Tiger King 2, will have just as much mayhem and madness as the first season.

At the moment, Netflix isn’t sharing any details as to what the show is about. The short announcement clip briefly shows Joe Exotic in prison doing a phone interview. There’s also a shot of Carole Baskin, the military moving in on a property and of course, tigers.

We don’t know how much content Netflix can suck out of this Joe Exotic story seen as he is in prison and Carole Baskin has since sold the former zoo. Perhaps the streaming service didn’t reveal everything they shot the first time around?

Even Carole Baskin doesn’t know how Netflix managed to pull off a second season. Baskin issued a statement soon after the show was announced. She claims that Netflix reached out about new content specific to “clearing the air”. However, Baskin refused to participate in Tiger King 2.

“I don’t know how they put out a Tiger King 2 when Joe Schreibvogel’s in jail and I’m refusing to be played again. Rebecca Chaiklin (director of Tiger King) said she wanted to “clear the air” about what they did to me in Tiger King. I told her to lose my number. There is no explanation for such a betrayal and false portrayal.”

Still, fans of the show can look forward to Tiger King 2 when it releases on 17 November.

If you missed the first season of Tiger King, you can watch it today on Netflix. The show debuted back in March 2020 and become an instant phenomenon. It attracted 64 million households in the first four weeks of release. Many of us remember watching the first season of Tiger King right as the world was crippled by the Covid-19 pandemic and lockdowns swept the world.

Netflix might be working on Tiger King 2 but there are also a handful of spinoff shows on the way. One of them even starring Nicolas Cage.
