CD Projekt RED has issued a statement in regards to the terrible Cyberpunk 2077 launch on PS4, Xbox One, PS5, Xbox Series X and PC. In the statement, the studio apologizes for not showing the game running on base last-gen consoles before launch and not allowing gamers to make the informed decision whether or not to purchase Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 or Xbox One. The studio says they should have paid more attention to making it play better on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.

CD Projekt RED is determined to fix the bugs in Cyberpunk 2077. They say the first round of updates have already been released and the next patch will arrive within the next week. In addition, gamers can expect larger updates in 2021 with the first one arriving in January followed by another in February. However, while these updates will improve the issues in Cyberpunk 2077 running on last-gen consoles, they will not make the game run like it’s running on a high-end PC or next-gen console. CD Projekt RED claim these updates will bring it closer to that experience than it is now.
For those of you who don’t think the game is worth the money you spent on it, CD Projekt RED says you can request a Cyberpunk 2077 refund. The developer asks for a chance to prove themselves but if you are not pleased with the game on your console or don’t want to wait for updates, users can opt to refund your copy of the game. Digital refunds are now being issued on PSN and Xbox and retail refunds should be processed through your retailer.
CD Projekt RED has also opened a specific refund email address to help users get their money back. Customers can contact [email protected] starting from today and up until 21 December 2020.
