Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 details regarding the upcoming title’s pre-order details, editions, and beta have seemingly leaked. The leak supposedly comes from an update to last year’s title, Call of Duty Vanguard, where dataminers have discovered multiple references to Modern Warfare 2 in the Season 3 Reloaded update for Vanguard.
The files that were uncovered supposedly reveal details on the upcoming shooter from Activision Blizzard, including details on expected editions that are planned for release and pre-order bonuses, as well as supposed plans for an open beta.
The datamine from avid fans revealed that there are supposedly three editions of the game that are going to be released, all of which will give players access to an open beta for PlayStation when pre-ordered. The editions will come as Modern Warfare 2 Standard Edition, Cross-Gen Bundle, and Vault Edition. The last in the list – which is also the most expensive – will reportedly include the below:
- Battle Pass (1 Season) + 50 Tier Skips
- Red Team Operator Pack: Ghost, Soap, Price, Farah
- FJX Cinder Weapon Vault
- 10 hours 2XP and 10 hours 2WXP
- Ghost Legacy Pack: 12 Operator Skins & 10 Weapon Blueprints
Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 was officially announced in April this year and is set for an October 28 2022 release date. According to a report from Tom Henderson, the upcoming title will also feature more violence, as well as a host of other issues including gun jamming, revamped AI, and more gore.
“Alleged new details on Modern Warfare 2 started to emerge last week, including claims that the reboot sequel will include features such as weapon jamming, a new morality system, gore, revamped AI, and more. According to our sources, these details are mostly correct, but we were told that some educated guesses seem to have been made, likely based on early gameplay shared internally at Activision.”
