CodeBro Cafe Gaming and Lifestyle Lounge Launches in Johannesburg – Gaming Comes to the South

I have known Jean du Plessis for some time now. He started off working with the GES team and then moved onto starting up his own gaming and lifestyle site along with his brother, Michael du Plessis called Code Bros. Get it?  Two brothers.

Jean and Michael then moved onto bigger things in early March as CodeBro Cafe became a real place with real games, real people and real events. CodeBro Cafe aims to deliver a unique location in Alberton, Johannesburg where gamers and geeks can gather around, play some Apex Legends, eat some food and have a beer all at the same time.

I attended the launch of CodeBro Cafe along with Pippa and we were pleasantly surprised to see Jean and Michael killing it with a unique space and vibe. CodeBro Cafe hosts an MSI PC gaming area where the PCs are kitted out with the best hardware for you to go and enjoy. You can bring some friends along and have a CS: GO tournament or just teabag some noobs in Apex Legends.

The venue also hosts weekly events such as a streaming spotlight evening that highlights one South African streamers be it quite popular or just starting out. This means you can come along and learn some things about the art of content creating and perhaps learn a thing or two about being on camera.

CodeBro Cafe is also home to the perfect venue to host a tournament or even a gaming birthday where you and friends can LAN it out in the comfort of the great staff. You might even catch a professional team training at the venue every now and then too. The best part of the venue is how family-friendly it is so you can take your kids along and they can keep busy on the various Nintendo Switch consoles available to play.

But let us show you more about the venue itself as we took our cameras along with us to the opening evening and even caught up with both Michael and Jean. Check it out below;
