Comic Con Africa is teaming up with Doritos for the Doritos Crunch Cup coming to this year’s event. The cup will be a series of free-to-play tournaments that will all take place at the Doritos Crunch Zone. Each day at Comic Con Africa 2022, there will be a new game to compete in, including Fortnite, Tekken 7, Street Fighter V and FIFA 22.
As part of Doritos’ ongoing commitment to the South African gaming scene, this tournament follows the Doritos Crunch Cup Fortnite series of online tournaments which took place earlier this year. Each day will feature a new game to compete in at Comic Con Africa 2022 with a cash prize of R4000 up for grabs every day. All tournaments will be 1v1, played on PlayStation 4 consoles, and will be in single elimination format.

Here’s every game you’ll find at the Doritos Crunch Zone and when to play:
⦁ Thursday 22 September 2022 – Fortnite
⦁ Friday 23 September 2022 – Tekken 7
⦁ Saturday 24 September 2022 – Street Fighter V
⦁ Sunday 25 September 2022 – FIFA 22
Registration for each tournament will take place at the Doritos Crunch Zone (located in the Gaming Hall) at Comic Con Africa from 9 am each day and only the first 96 people will secure their spot to compete in each tournament, so much sure you arrive early! The first game for each match will then kick off at 10:45 am sharp.
“No one under the age of 13 will be permitted to compete. Should anyone between the ages of 13-18 wish to compete, a guardian or parent will need to be present at the time of registration and check-in to sign a consent form,” CCA said in the press release.
Between 12:45-13:45 each day, there will also be a pro showdown at the Doritos Crunch Zone where gamers and fans will get the chance to “Beat the Pro” by going up against pros of various levels across the various titles – plus could score R1000 and bragging rights.
