Comic Con Africa 2023 Guest Spotlight – Denim Richards

Comic Con Africa 2023 is set to have a stacked list of local and international celebrities attending thev event this year. We’ve already covered C-3PO actor Anthony Daniels, Ash Ketchum voice actress Veronica Taylor, Torchwood and Doctor Who‘s John Barrowman, and Steven John Ward who plays Mihawk in the live-action One Piece series. Ahead of the event this Friday, we’re wrapping things up with a closer look at another big guest: Yellowstone‘s Denim Richards.

Denim Richards was born on 10 August, 1988 in Anaheim, California, USA. As far back as the age of 5, he knew he wanted to be a performer when he sang in front of hundreds of people in an annual assembly. That was the moment that really sparked Richards’ curiosity and motivation for getting into the entertainment industry.

Richards would later perform in various musical productions and theatre, which taught him to memorise the shows extensively and improve his acting ability. Richards’ transition from the stage to the screen was a relatively smooth one, first landing smaller roles on the TV series Good Luck Charlie and Catfish: The TV Show, among others. During the 2010s, Richards starred in several smaller short films, TV shows and movies before being hired to play Jack Brown on the 2021 movie, Montford: The Chickasaw Rancher.

While filming on the set of Montford, Richards was informed by a co-star about a new cowboy project in the works at Paramount called Yellowstone. Seizing the opportunity, he auditioned for the series and landed his breakthrough role as Colby Mayfield. Furthermore, this helped Richards star alongside notable Hollywood actors like Kevin Costner, West Bentley, Luke Grimes and more on the show.

Denim Richards is currently working on his own project called The Forgotten Ones as a writer/director. He is set to appear at Comic Con Africa 2023 on 2 days, from 24-25 September. Comic Con Africa will run from 22-25 September. Make sure you secure your tickets on Howler.
