Concord 25,000 Copies Sold Sony Estimated

Concord is Estimated to Have Sold Only 25,000 Copies

Concord, the latest first-person hero shooter from PlayStation and developer Firewalk Studios, is estimated to have sold only 25,000 copies since its release last week. The game has since received middling reviews online with many criticising its rocky foundation and uninspired combat. Across both PS5 and PC, though, Concord’s sales tell a sadder story.

As reported by IGN, Gamediscover.co analyst Simon Carless estimated that around 10,000 players purchased Concord on Steam while only 15,000 bought the game on PS5, bringing its estimated total sales to around 25,000 units sold.

As of writing, Steam Charts show that only 85 players where playing the game just an hour ago. That number has since been declining after players reported very long wait times between matches due to the low player count. Its all-time peak only reached 697 players, which is below even games like The Lord of the Rings: Gollum, which was considered the worst game of 2023 but still managed to find 758 players at its all-time peak.

Analysts and players are calling Concord one of the biggest bombs in gaming history and it’s easy to see why if we take these numbers into consideration. Developer Firewalk Studios has been quiet on social media for the past week, leading many to believe that the studio could face severe downscaling or be shut down as a result of Concord‘s failure.

Of course, there’s no official way to see how many players are currently playing Concord on PS5 at the moment, though the low Steam player count might be a good indication that things aren’t faring better on Sony’s console than they are on PC. There might be a way to turn the game’s reception around with more dedication to its ongoing updates and development but it remains to be seen if Sony will simply pull the plug on the project altogether at this point.
