Concord PvP Multiplayer Shooter PS5 PC

Concord is Sony’s New PvP Shooter Coming to PS5 and PC

Last night during the PlayStation State of Play, Sony and developer Firewalk Studios officially revealed its new PvP multiplayer first-person shooter titled Concord. A cinematic CG trailer was followed by our first look at gameplay which many have compared to Overwatch. It’s currently set to release on PS5 and PC sometime in 2024.

As explained on the PlayStation Blog, Concord will be a PvP multiplayer shooter with hero elements as shown by the various characters and roles you can take on. The cinematic trailer initially made it seem like we might play as a ragtag group of misfits on some sci-fi adventures akin to Guardians of the Galaxy, though the gameplay whistled another tune entirely.

This marks Sony’s attempt to break into live service territory after announcing before that it planned to develop and invest in several new live service games, some original and some based on pre-existing franchises. Concord is the first step in that direction but the fan reception hasn’t been warm, to say the least. Over on the official gameplay trailer on YouTube, it’s sitting with 2.8k likes to over 11k dislikes, with comments like “game has aged like milk and it isn’t even out yet.” Ouch.

Nonetheless, PlayStation and Firewalk Studios are confident that they can deliver something special. The blog post explains:

“Concord is a bringing together of peoples. It’s the power of games to build connection and inspire social play. The Firewalk team is driven by the type of exciting, unexpected moments and shared experiences that multiplayer games create. Every time you log on is the beginning of a new adventure and every match is an opportunity for a new story. It’s these ideals that define Concord, its unique universe of vibrant worlds, and its rich cast of colorful characters.”

Concord is in development for PS5 and PC. Check out the cinematic and gameplay trailers below:
