Counter-Strike 2 is now available for everyone to play. Valve shadow-dropped the shooter last night after it had been in beta for a couple of weeks. The company says Counter-Strike 2 is a pretty big deal for the industry as it marks the “largest technical leap in Counter-Strike history”.
If you have been playing the game up to this point, you have likely experienced some of the technical landmarks on offer. CS2 includes improved lighting, visual effects, textures, mapmaking tools and completely overhauled and updated maps.

Counter-Strike 2 is a free-to-play game on Steam but you can purchase a Prime Status Upgrade for R284. It comes with both the first Counter-Strike: Global Offensive and Counter-Strike 2. Prime Status players will also be matched with other Prime Status players and will receive Prime-exclusive souvenir items, item drops and weapon cases.
Keep in mind that Counter-Strike 2 has completely replaced the original game. So you’ll need to move over at some point or another.
