Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time Headed to PS5, Series X, Switch and PC

Activision has announced that Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time will be arriving on PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and Nintendo Switch on 12 March 2021. There’s also a PC version coming to Battle.Net later this year. If you don’t know, Crash Bandicoot 4 marks the first new direct sequel to the classic trilogy which was released back in the early 2000s. We reviewed the game at the launch last year and absolutely loved it.

The story follows Crash, Coco and some other characters from the series hunt down Dr Neo Cortex as he takes control of time. Activision says that the game will feature all the incredible platforming from the original release but now with some great new visual enhancements across PS5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game will have enhanced 4K resolution and run at 60FPS.

Best of all, players who already own the game on PS4 and Xbox One can upgrade to the new enhanced version for free. Activision says that this upgrade is obviously limited to the same family of consoles. This means that if you already own the game digitally, the enhanced version will pop up in your library on 12 March 2021. If you own the disc version, players will have to insert the disc and download the enhanced version of Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time in order to play it.

Crash Bandicoot 4: It’s About Time releases on 12 March 2021 for PS5, Xbox Series X/S and Switch. It is currently available on PS4 and Xbox One.

Experience the story in new ways with alternate timeline paths, revisiting previous levels using different characters — like nefarious villain Neo Cortex and the reformed Dingodile — and more difficult platforming challenges. And test your skills in the new N. Verted mode, a wild take on mirror mode that flips levels and delivers new filters and effects across dimensions.
