We know Activision plans on re-releasing a handful of classics in the coming years. Lasy year, the company announced it would work on a brand-new Crash Bandicoot game. In addition, this new release would be built from the ground up and feature an original new story. It seems the game has leaked, in a way. Merchandise from the game was spotted online at a retailer called Blackfire. The mech showcases Crash Bandicoot looking a little different compared to his past appearances.

The merchandise also has some new characters as well as some returning ones. A pin o Dingodile and another new character was spotted. In addition, the clothing range reveals a pirate setting for the new unannounced Crash Bandicoot game. Ship wheels, rope, life-saving tubes, sharks and even some cutlasses can be seen in the hat design. One T-Shirt even has Crash running around a circle with ships around him.
The light-up item also seems to have a tentacle popping out of the artwork.
The image quality is low but you get the idea. With the Sony PS5 event taking place this evening, the company could be showcasing this new game as part of the PS5 games lineup. Previously, Sony has had timed-exclusive rights to the Crash Bandicoot game series. If this merch is anything to go by, we will probably see a new game launching for PS4 and PS5 in the next year or so. We will have to see what Sony has planned for this evening.
