The file size for both the PS4 and PS5 versions of Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion have been revealed and it looks like the tables have drastically turned. The PS4 file size is double that of the PS5 size, meaning PS4 players will have to clear up a bit more space if they want to experience the remaster. However, it’s also not a particularly daunting or massive file size either.
According to reliable Twitter account PlayStation Game Size, Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion will come in at 20.993 GB on PS5. However, the PS4’s file size is double that at 40.496 GB. It’s unknown why there’s such a major difference in file sizes across generations, though the PS5’s internal SSD doing most of the heavy lifting can probably be thanked for that.

Needless to say, if you’re planning on playing the anticipated remaster on PS4, you’re going to have to free up a bit more space than PS5 players.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion is a remaster of the classic PSP title that serves as a prequel to the events of Final Fantasy VII. Instead of playing as Cloud Strife, players assume the role of Zack Fair, Cloud’s Shinra companion. The game recounts the moments leading up to the beginning of the main game, including the tragic outcome for Zack (which may or may not be completely retconned in Rebirth, we’re not entirely sure).
On the plus side, those who weren’t able to experience Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII if they didn’t own a PSP will now be able to do so across multiple consoles and PC – thankfully, it’s not exclusive to PlayStation like many other Final Fantasy games at the moment.
Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion releases on 13 December 2022 for PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch and PC. Check out the latest launch trailer below.
