Fans can pick up the game physically when it launches on 6 December 2022. The studio also detailed what players can expect from the game’s pretty awesome collector’s edition.

Cuphead originally launched in 2017 but always existed as a digital title until now. Studio MDHR is finally giving the game a physical release after five years, though it will come with a lot more than just the base game. According to the press release, the collector’s edition will include “a vintage handcrafted Cuphead marionette puppet, a mechanical hand-crank music box, a unique and classy o-sleeve, and a map showcasing the world of Inkwell Isles from Cuphead – all within a premium box showcasing the Asbestos Safety Curtain that can be transformed to display the Cuphead marionette.” The catch is that fans can only pre-order this edition through iam8bit. No release date has been set for the collector’s edition yet.

If this is your first time jumping into one of the best games of the last decade, Steam’s product page provides a description:

“Cuphead is a classic run and gun action game heavily focused on boss battles. Inspired by cartoons of the 1930s, the visuals and audio are painstakingly created with the same techniques of the era, i.e. traditional hand drawn cel animation, watercolor backgrounds, and original jazz recordings. Play as Cuphead or Mugman (in single player or local co-op) as you traverse strange worlds, acquire new weapons, learn powerful super moves, and discover hidden secrets while you try to pay your debt back to the devil!”

Cuphead‘s physical edition launches on 6 December 2022. A release date hasn’t been announced yet for the collector’s edition.
