Cyberpunk 2077 CD Projekt Red Backstories

Cyberpunk 2077 Character Lifepaths Revealed in New Awesome Trailer

During the latest Night City Wire stream, developer CD Projekt Red revealed the “lifepaths” system coming to Cyberpunk 2077 including the backstories. Lifepaths are character backgrounds which players can choose when creating their character to give them a little background to where they came from and how they ended up in the current situation.

The Cyberpunk 2077 lifepaths include the Street Kid, Nomad, and Corpo. They all act as backstories for your playable character “V”. Street Kid is your cliche “brought up from nothing” hoodlum. He is badass, has caused a load of trouble in his past and only knows the city life. It created and moulded the person he or she is today. Seems it is not possible to be a city person without being a thug.

We then have the Nomad. This character is an outcast of the city who lives in in the desert. Think Mad Max meets Cyberpunk 2077 and that’s your guy. He’s a drifter on the way to the city for a family reason. He sticks out there and does not belong there either. Suntans and dry skin. The desert is not an easy place to live.

Lastly, we have Corpo. This backstory proves there are even thugs in megacorporations. It’s all about money and business and doing whatever it takes to control Arasaka. Stock markets, hacking, drugs and backstabbing. All in a day’s work.

Cyberpunk 2077 seems to include a good range of backstories to cater to its player base. I for one, am vibing the Nomad or Corpo backstory a lot. Choosing your backstory at the start of the game is vital to moulding your character’s past. This intro is referenced throughout the game and plays a vital role in the overall progression in Cyberpunk 2077.

Looking past the backstories, the latest trailer gives us a good look at some new gameplay, environments and characters. Check it out below. Cyberpunk 2077 launches on 19 November 2020 for PS4, Xbox One and PC.
