From the gameplay video released last year for Cyberpunk 2077, the game looks incredible and the E3 demo reportedly also looked amazing, as the game features Ray Tracing and ran on what everyone assumes to be a monster PC, since at the moment, you need an RTX range GeForce to use Ray Tracing. With the demos running on a high-end PCs, one has to wonder, how will it look on consoles?
There’s always this fear that a game might not look great or run smoothy on your preferred gaming platform of choice. Since no console footage has been released for Cyberpunk 2077. Although we still don’t know how the game looks on consoles, CD Projekt Red has assured fans that consoles will be treated as first class platforms for Cyberpunk 2077.
In a snippet from an interview with CD Projekt Red’s Alvin Liu, WCCFtech asked how the game will look and run on consoles as well as low-end PCs, asking if it is a challenge in terms of optimization for lower-end hardware. Check out the response below.

And actually, we’re targeting consoles as first class platforms and it looks amazing there. So obviously, if you spent, you know, $2,000 building your PC rig, it’s going to look better on that. But the graphics are quite amazing for what you’re going to get from Cyberpunk 2077 on consoles and low-end PCs.[/perfectpullquote]
That makes a whole lot of sense if you ask me. High-end PC builds will obviously get the most out of the game with all the tech features such as Ray Tracing, but it is great to hear that you will still get a good graphical experience out of the game on consoles and even low-end PCs. Personally, I would love to see the system requirements, but that will probably only be revealed a few months before launch as optimization is sure to continue for a while still.
Cyberpunk 2077 has a release date of 16 April 2020 for PC, PS4 and Xbox One. For those who plan on getting a physical copy of the game, check out our South African’s buyer’s guide.
